Aristal Delivered Core Banking System Replacement Program for a Large Malaysian Banking Group

Aristal is proud to have played an instrumental role in the successful implementation of a new core banking system for one of Malaysia’s largest banking groups. The historic event in 2013 marked a major milestone in the Group’s transformation effort to attract new customer segments and stay competitive in today’s dynamic environment.

The Phase 1 implementation was the most complex core banking replacement in the region as it involved three major roll-outs on the same day, i.e. replacement of core banking system for ~5 million customers, deposit & loan accounts, implementation of a new java-based branch teller systems used by ~2,000 tellers and office users, rewiring of the overall online EAI integration architecture, integration with ~80 interface applications and a new enterprise data warehouse supporting ~20 downstream applications for risk, finance, compliance & regulatory reporting.

Aristal was engaged by the bank to lead and manage the implementation of both Phase 1 & 2 of this strategic program. Aristal played lead roles in overall program management, change control, end-to-end testing, data conversion and deployment activities. Phase 1 & 2 successfully went live in Nov 2013 and Dec 2015 respectively.

Completion of the Phase 2 cutover marked the successful completion and closure of a strategic IT transformation initiative to develop a state-of-the-art technology platform to support the bank’s long term business growth.
